My Timex & Weekend

I have been with my girlfriend for the best part of 8 years as of last weekend. She has spent the last year or so over in New York which gave me the perfect excuse to visit a few times too. One of the advantages of having a blog/Tumblr is that She may check in from time to time to see what you're 'feeling'.

I love watches but rarely wear one or splash out on one. I think its my defence mechanism when I have no money. This time however, I fell in love a second time, only this time was with a watch. Designed by/for J Crew and based on an iconic 1940s military style from the Timex archives, it has a subtly distressed off-white dial face, Arabic numerals and an olive-toned watch strap.This piece is built for the trenches: it has a quartz analog movement and is water resistant to 50 meters.

In return for her pressie, I brought her next door into Noble & Beggarman to show her a book I thought She (& I) would like. Its the fashion album of Dolce & Gabbana. Its huge, heavy and full of amazing imagery. A keepsake full of inspiration and beauty. Perfect for what I wanted it to say.
