I am just back from a meeting with Dublin City Council about improving the general business area around Grafton Street

Naturally it was a very interesting meeting and very neccessary given the current economic climate. Footfall is way down in Dublin city, expecially the South Side where Dundrum Shopping Centre has had a significant impact.
Come September you will see the 1st signs of the regeneration scheme which will be based out of the old Cultivate centre in Temple Bar. This City Centre Project team will look at the issues of vacant shops, unemployment and cultural/family events. Another significant aspect will be the branding of respective areas in the City.
Anyway, I thought it would be good to show you that its not all about selling nice clothes right now for independent retailers. Myself along with other's have taken our proposal to the City chambers to be proactive in keeping the city alive.
Please support your local independent businesses during these times as many do not look set to return in the future.
